Noravank Monastery

Noravank Monastery is one of the most popular sights in Armenia. Despite its centuries-old age, the name of the monastery complex Noravank is translated as “a new monastery”. The main building of the religious ensemble is the Church of the Holy Virgin, on the ground floor of which there is the tomb of princes Orbelian. The facade of the church is adorned with steep stairs and skillfully made bas-reliefs.

Many medieval cross-stones has preserved on the territory of the architectural complex. Noravank is one of the most impressive religious monuments in Armenia due to its unique architecture and picturesque red mountains that surround the monastery like colorful Armenian carpets.
